What can I expect during my appointment?
Every parent-baby pair is different, and so is every lactation visit. However, there are a few things you can expect from every appointment with our International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC):

Appointments and Pricing
In-person and virtual appointments may be covered by your insurance. In-person appointments may require an additional travel fee. All fees will be communicated before booking is confirmed. We offer multiple payment options and payment plans if needed.
Prenatal
$220

Education on the basics of breast/chestfeeding and milk production, what to expect, tips for success, and more

Help creating your birth plan

Open to co-parents, doulas, or others who may support you in the early days of infant feeding. Usually 60-90 minutes.​​
Postnatal (New Baby)
$240 initial / $195 follow-up

Includes:

Full review of your and your baby's birth and medical history

Evaluation of your baby's milk transfer, latch, and positioning
-
Teamwork to address your pain, discomfort, frustration, or worries
Initial visits usually last 90-120 minutes. Some problems may not be solved in a single visit. Follow-up visits make sure that your needs are fully met and usually last 60-90 minutes.
Pumping/Bottles
$145

Education on expressing and storing milk, ways to feed your baby, tips for success, and more

Flange fitting and sizing recommendations​

Guidance on how to get a pump
Open to co-parents, grandparents, friends, or other caregivers who may feed your baby. Usually 30 minutes.
Weaning Support

One-on-one support to talk through your feelings, questions, and concerns about weaning

Help creating a schedule to wean safely and avoid mastitis

Guidance on supporting your baby's healthy nutrition, your mental health, and bonding

Induced/Relactation
$220 initial / $195 follow-up​

Clear discussion of options for establishing your milk supply, and pros and cons of each

Help creating a schedule

Open to anyone else who may play a role in breast/chestfeeding, nursing, or otherwise feeding a baby human milk. Usually 60-90 minutes.

Please note that Peaceful Perinatal offers support free of charge following a miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss.
We currently accept most Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Anthem PPO, Cigna, United Healthcare PPO & HMO, VA CCN, PNOA (logo on card), and Multiplan (logo on card). If your insurance is not accepted, we will provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
